Guided Convoy Tours
Please read carefully over the Rental Requirements for ISAK 4x4 Rental. More detailed information about the rental requirement, terms and conditions for individual rental can be found here.
Rental Requirement
Driver´s License:
The driver must present a valid driving licence held for a minimum of two years at the time of rental. An International Driving Permit (IDP) / International Driving License (IDL) is also required if your national driving licence is not in Roman script. This is required for translation purposes and may only be used in conjunction with a national driving licence.
The person named on the reservation must be the main driver, present at time of rental and payer of any rental charges. Additional drivers can be added to the agreement subjected to daily fee for each additional driver.
Age Restrictions and Exceptions
The minimum age is 21 year for guided convoy tours.
Driving Restrictions
It is forbidden to drive on unmarked roads and roads that are marked as closed by the Icleandic Road Administration. Please note that if you drive on unotherised road you are not insured.
Taxes
All rates are subject to a government tax (VAT) at the rate of 25.5% and are included in all rates. Should the tax change the rates will change accordingly.
Payment Deposit
A deposit of 10% of the rental price is required within 7 days from confirmation of a booking if not agreed differently. Full payment of the rental must be made 4 weeks before arrival.
Methods of Payment – Guaranty
A valid credit card in the main driver's name is required to reserve and rent the vehicle. For all rentals (also prepaid) an imprint of a credit card is required as a guaranty. An authorization of EUR 2.500,- from a major credit card will be taken at the start of all rentals as a deposit even if the cost of the rental is covered by a voucher. This deposit may be used to cover the self risk EUR 2.500,- and any extra charges such as fuel, extra kilometre and traffic fines. No rentals can take place without the main driver having a major credit card present.
Acceptable credit cards are: Mastercard and Visa.
Cancellation fee (individual rental)
Reservation that is cancelled more than:
16days prior to rental day, no cancellation fee is charged.
15-8 days prior to rental day, 30% of total reservation value is charged.
7-2 days prior to rental day, 50% of total reservation value is charged.
Less than 48 hours prior to rental day, 80% of total reservation value is charged.
